About Our Yarns

About our yarns

Friends, I am not going to tell you what size needle or hook to use.   This is up to you, how you do it and what you’re looking for.  I’m convinced that every project should aim for a fabric that is pleasing to the knitter/crocheter and suitable for the garment or project.  One yarn might be knit on three different needles for a winter sweater, a spring t-shirt and a lace shawl.  Swatch.  Or start with one needle and adjust quickly (pivot!).  Minor gauge variance often isn’t noticeable or can be blocked out.

FINGERING WEIGHT YARNS

Arial A long time fan favorite for its generous yardage, superb color saturation, and elegant stitch definition.  Arial is a light fingering yarn with a lovely, soft hand.  This yarn is a great option for lace, particularly scarves and shawls.  The two plies lend themselves nicely to open, airy fabric, and the Evolution skeins especially will create stunning lace accessories.  Some find the airy plies are prone to splitting when knitting with sharp points.

Glam  Glam is the twinkly sister to Tasty.  It’s the same bouncy round yarn with next-to-skin softness from the cashmere.  The surprise is that the nylon in this yarn is crafted with a lovely sparkle that catches the light to make your projects shine!  It is suitable in projects for all but hot weather.  The fingering gauge works for a vast array of patterns for shawls, hats, scarves and other garments.

Svelte  This yarn is a stunner.  It is gorgeously soft with a blend of cashmere and silk elevating a classic superwash merino.  Svelte is such a joy to work with and to feel running through your fingers.  Use Svelte for lovely, wearable garments and accessories.  You can’t go wrong with this fingering weight beauty for your go-to shawl pattern or the hottest Ravelry trending design.

Tasty Tasty is is a smooth and buttery-soft yarn with great bounce.

This fingering weight yarn is luxurious but quite durable, making it an excellent choice for socks when knit at 8 or 9 stitches per inch.

The cashmere lends a subtle halo to the yarn, which makes Tasty a wonderful choice for snuggly shawls or scarves.  Tasty makes a fabulous, treasured garment worn next to your skin, so you can touch it all day. Or maybe just keep a skein nearby for fondling.

SPORT WEIGHT YARNS

Happy This sport weight, superwash merino yarn is an excellent choice for lighter weight sweaters and tops, stranded work, lace shawls  and other accessories.  It’s super easy to work with, makes a fabric from super strong at tight gauges to super drapey at loose gauges.  It’s deeply saturated color and smooth texture show off pretty or elaborate patterns.

DK WEIGHT YARNS

Yummy  This DK weight superwash merino/cashmere/nylon blend is incredibly versatile, and feels so bouncy, soft and luxurious.

Yummy makes a beautiful fabric at a variety of gauges, which makes it a great choice for everything from socks and gloves to shawls and sweaters.  With excellent stitch definition, a lofty construction, and an understated glow, Yummy is a truly stunning yarn. You will not want to put down your needles or hook when you are working with Yummy!
